Once your site is created, it’s going to need site visitors, and one of the key factors in attracting those visitors is content. Google, and other search engines (SERPS), send bots to crawl your site pages. These bots then use sophisticated data to determine where each page of your site ranks in the SERPS.
Since Google is the most popular search engine for organic traffic (people find your site by doing searches for various keywords and phrases), it’s a good idea to create content that is likely to be favored by Google.
Fortunately, Google has shared an easy-to-follow content creation formula called E-E-A-T that reveals exactly what they expect from your blog/website content. The formula is used by Google to identify sites that feature high-quality content for site visitors. While it’s not the only factor contributing to how your site ranks, it’s an important one that can make your site competitive with other sites implementing the E-E-A-T formula.
What is E-E-A-T SEO?
Google appreciates sites that implement E-E-A-T into content for SEO purposes. There are four individual parts to the strategy that you need to know about.
Experience. Demonstrate that you have experience in the subject matter by sharing insights, opinions and personal experiences. If you don’t have any first-hand experience, tell the stories of those that do, using their stories as examples to explain key points that support the information being shared. Be sure to be transparent about your sources when using someone else’s experiences within your content.
Expertise. Are you an expert in your chosen niche?
If so, share your credentials and/or qualifications that prove your expertise. If you don’t have the expertise, you can do what a good journalist writing a story does – find credible sources and make use of their expertise.
Examples:
According to research studies, this combination of vegetables contains powerful antioxidants that contribute to health.
Seth Jones, lawn care expert, notes that grass grows best when it has adequate light and water.
Authoritativeness. Your site needs to be seen as an authority within its niche. Authority is based upon three key factors, the content author, the content itself and the entire site.
Trustworthiness. Google wants to send traffic to sites that are proven to be trustworthy. Make sure that your content is authentic, and factually accurate, and that trustworthy sources are cited. Also make sure that there is no keyword spamming or excessive use of display ads. Follow FTC guidelines that state that a disclaimer must appear on any page that features affiliate marketing links.
